A sitemap is a file which includes the different pages of a website and the path to them through the sections of the site. The pages can be arranged visually or as simple text and such a file is extremely useful for two reasons. The first one is that it makes it faster and easier for the website visitors to discover a specific page they need, so that they can navigate your website better and a lot faster, which in turn will increase their user experience and it will be more likely that they will return to the website or will recommend it to other people. One more reason is the fact that a sitemap permits search engines to index your website content better, particularly when it is updated, so when users are looking for certain content, it's more likely that they will come across your site because it will be listed higher in their search results. If your website is not indexed effectively, it may not appear for some searches, so even when you have what people want, they will not get to your Internet site.
