A mailing list is a list of email addresses which get the very same message simultaneously. When you send an e-mail message to the mailing list address, it will be forwarded to all the addresses on that list automatically, but none of the receivers will become aware of who the rest of the recipients are. In the general case, people have to subscribe to a list, but sometimes email addresses are added manually without their owners’ awareness. Based on the particular list management software, you may also be able to greenlight new subscribers, so users will not be able to sign up for a mailing list unless you okay their signup request. The mailing list feature is exceptionally useful in case you would like to send regular newsletters or some other kind of periodic publications to customers, as you will need to send a single email message and all the subscribers will get it immediately. As a consequence, you won’t have to insert a large number of email addresses manually.
