Whenever a page on your site does not load, an error message will be displayed to the visitor. Since there are different errors, there are different pages which will display, but what is typical for all of them is that they are generic and probably will have practically nothing that resembles the layout of your website, which could be irritating for any website visitor. This is the primary reason why hosting providers have introduced a function named Custom Error Pages. For a number of different errors, website visitors shall see your customized content, which could be informative or amusing, based on your personal preference, and which shall match the overall style and design of your Internet site, so the pages will not seem like they're not part of your site at all. You could use this option for many errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).
Custom Error Pages in Shared Website Hosting
You can set up personalized error pages for any of your sites with ease when you use any of our shared website hosting plans
. This could be done via the Hosted Domains part of the Hepsia CP, provided with all accounts and when you go there, you'll be able to set your personalized pages independently for any domain or subdomain. You need to upload the files to your account before you start and input the links to them during the process. This function can be de-activated anytime and the options you will be able to pick from are a conventional page from our system or a default Apache server page. Custom error pages may be set with an .htaccess file as well. The file should be placed in the domain or subdomain folder and it should include some system code and links to the pages. If you aren't tech-savvy, you can copy the entire content necessary for the file from our Help section.
